"Now and Then"

Now and Then is a heartfelt, humorous, and magical story about love, choices, and second chances. Set in a quiet Chicago bar in 1981, the play follows a young couple whose evening takes an unexpected turn when an older man offers them $2,000 to sit and talk with him for an hour. As the night unfolds, secrets are revealed, time bends, and the characters confront the past, present, and future in unexpected ways.

This four-person play blends drama, romance, and a touch of the fantastical. It explores how the choices we make can shape our lives—and how we might choose differently if given the chance.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

1. Jamie (Male, 20s-30s)

A young man in his mid-20s. Jamie is a dreamer and aspiring pianist who bartends to pay the bills. He’s optimistic but grounded, thoughtful, and sincere. He deeply loves Abby and is ready to marry her. Actor must convey vulnerability, charm, and emotional depth.

2. Abby (Female, 20s-30s)

A young woman in her mid-20s. Abby is smart, confident, and pragmatic, with a warm heart and sharp wit. She works as a waitress and has big dreams, but she also craves stability. She's ready to move forward in life and love but wants assurance that Jamie is, too.

3. Man (Male, 50s-60s)

An older version of Jamie. Wise, world-weary, and emotionally complex. He carries the weight of regret and longing, but also a deep love and hope. He's charming and funny, but there's sadness behind his eyes. Actor must portray a layered character with subtle emotional shifts.

4. Woman (Female, 50s-60s)

An older version of Abby. Elegant, strong, and full of emotional intelligence. She’s lived through both joy and pain and comes back into Jamie and Abby’s life at a pivotal moment. A role requiring presence, grace, and emotional nuance.

We look forward to seeing you at auditions!

"Night Watch"

Night Watch tells the story of Elaine Wheeler, who, unable to sleep, paces the floor of her Manhattan townhouse, troubled by fears and unsettling memories. Her husband tries to comfort her, but when he steps away momentarily, Elaine screams as she sees a dead body in the window across the way. The police are called, but find nothing except an empty chair. Elaine desperately tries to convince her husband and the police that a murder has been committed, but her frantic pleas go unheeded. The plot moves forward grippingly as those involved -- Elaine's old friend; the inquisitive man from next door; and the housemaid--all contribute to the deepening suspense as the play draws toward it's riveting and chilling climax.
